Interviste Sportive : Silvia Rizzo: The Art of Connection Between Two Souls

I’m honored to have been interviewed by Interviste Sportive, an Italian Magazine dedicated to sharing the stories and passions of athletes across various disciplines. It was the perfect opportunity to talk about what Horse Riding means to me—not just a sport of technique and competition, but above all, a connection, respect, and harmony with the horse.

Silvia, tell us what riding horses means to you…

Here’s what she said:

"Riding horses , for me, is much more than a sport—it is a profound connection between two souls, the rider and the horse, working together in perfect harmony. It is a silent dialogue made of glances, gestures, and sensations that transcend words.

This sport is an art that demands respect, patience, and attentive listening. The horse is not a tool but a partner with whom to share the journey. Every movement, every step is the result of an understanding built over time, rooted in mutual trust and empathy. It is a fragile yet powerful balance, where the rider relies on the horse’s strength and grace, and the horse responds to the rider’s guidance and sensitivity.

When I’m in the saddle, the world stops. Every thought, every emotion focuses on that moment, on that union that seems to suspend time. It’s a dance that celebrates the beauty of respect—respecting limits, embracing challenges, and celebrating small victories.

Riding horses , teaches us to set aside our ego and understand that we are never truly alone. Every achievement, every victory is the result of teamwork, where the rider and the horse become one soul, moving with elegance and strength.

This sport reminds me every day that true strength comes from respecting nature, our four-legged companions, and the authentic connection we build with them."
